Fred Perry

As the first British heritage brand to successfully combine sportswear with street wear, Fred Perry is renowned for their signature slim fitting cotton pique shirts which have become iconic wardrobe staples. Established as the result of a partnership between Wimbledon champion, Fred Perry and Austrian footballer, Tibby Wegner, the brand initially drew on its athletic roots to develop a range of sweatbands which were quickly adopted by tennis players across Britain. This led to the design of lightweight, breathable sports shirts, crafted from cotton pique with an open honeycomb stitch and an open placket which acted as the perfect performance wear for tennis. The original slim fit cotton pique shirts are still made in England to the same shape and fabric as when they were first launched in 1952, featuring the signature Fred Perry laurel leaf embroidery to the chest. Associated with a diverse range of subcultures including mods, skinheads and soul boys, Fred Perry shirts have become synonymous with underground fashion and street cool.
